Sourcing from Europe for the density of the grain, yes, but especially for the beauty of the shade obtained when oiled. This combination of natural oils with European fibers enhances the complexity of the colour while avoiding a greenish sheen.

European white oak generally has a tighter grain, smaller growth rings and a more uniform colour than American white oak. The sapwood is whitish, while the heartwood ranges from light brown to rich, grayish beige. It is mostly straight grain, medium to coarse texture, its growth rings are also very visible but delicate at the same time.
